This is a tutorial or assembly resource on the Christian festival of advent. The resource looks at the ways in which advent is celebrated both now and in the past and the significance of the time for Christians. There is a differentiated story using either the Bible text or a simple version ideal for lower age or ability students. We also offer a full 60 minute lesson version of this resource and a Christmas Jumper Day design activity.
This is an easy to follow power point lesson. The lesson has been planned to last for about 20 minutes however it is fully editable meaning that like all of our lessons, activities could be added, removed or changed. No further planning, printing or preparation is required before teaching this lesson.
No previous knowledge in this subject area is needed, the lesson is easily deliverable by someone who is not a subject specialist or an experienced Religious Education teacher.
